How ODD Are You?

How ODD Are You?

Study 1st Peter 2:9-10. Really dissect those verses. Tear apart those words and hear what God is saying to you.

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.”

In verse number 9, the Christian is commanded to be odd, different or peculiar. You and I are commanded to be different- from those of the world; from those who are unfaithful to God; from those who are hypocritical; from those who refuse to obey. The world full of all those groups ought to look at us like we are weird. We are supposed to be viewed as odd by those who cling to this world and its treasures. We are also commanded to be royal- with a different BLOOD, holy- SEPARATED unto God for a certain duty & chosen- favored and ELECTED. With these four adjectives, God demands that His Child be clearly seen as the odd one in the group of a lost world.

In verse 10, we read while you and I were lost in our own selfishness of sin and debauchery, God did not even see us as people. It is not the fact that we did not exist, but rather that we had no family or source of life. By the grace of God, the blood of Christ and our obedience, we are the benefactors of the inheritance of the Almighty.

So study 1st Peter 2:9-10. Really dissect those verses. Tear apart those words and hear what God is saying to you. You and I are required by God to be different, holy, royal and chosen.
